The Oscars may be over but Freida fever is still on. Freida attended the Dolce and Gabbana Fall 2009 show today in Milan wearing a Dolce Spring 2009 dress.

Love it or hate it?

  1. I dont believe in luck, I do believe in hardwork…but everytime I look at her my whole belief system is turned upside down!!!
LOVE what she’s wearing….wish her makeup and hair were a bit edgy too but then she’s conventional and shes keepin it!

  2. Hate it. I don’t care if it’s D&G. It still looks like a sack with embellishments. This is a case of the emperor’s clothes – because it’s D&G we should all go gaga over it.

    She looks uncomfortable in it.

  3. She looks nice man!She reminds me of Penelope cruz once she arrived Hollywood she became press objective soon she got RL contract I see Frieda on the same road someone behind her is doing a good job on style!

  4. Is she crying in the pic with Naomi Watts? Very weird. I, personally think her thighs and legs are looking very stocky- the heels do very little to make her look less mousey.

  5. what is everyone talking about??? freida is completely overwhelmed by this dress!!! she looks like a mouse in an oversized cloak!

  6. Dress is good on the model, but is not falling well on Freida. It is edgy but she is not doing justice to it, atleast in these pics. Maybe better make-up would help.

  7. It looks like she’s wearing a homemade craft project. How to make a dress out of things you find at home. Satin sheets, scissors, leftover pieces of fabric and a Bedazzler.

Who cares if it’s D&G. It’s still ugly.

  8. i don’t like the dress. and she’s looking really uncomfortable with those shoes (can’t blame her for that but then wear smaller heels)
good for her that she’s gettig front row! is it naomi watts next to her?

  9. Something about her face looks off, and I can’t pinpoint it. It could be the lighting and/or the makeup, but she seems to have lost her freshness. Anyways, I’m indifferent about the dress. It’s one of those dresses that looks great on the runway, but doesn’t seem like it’s actually meant to be worn at events. I wish Freida would pull her hair back more; she has a short neck and hair draped over her shoulders emphasizes it.

  10. I think the makeup makes her look lighter…dont like the dress but I like the color. It looks good on her and WOW front front at D&G !! great going ! She definitely made an impression on someone !

  11. really…the top half of her face is lighter than the bottom half. Makes me think she ate something , wiped her mouth & that took the makeup off

  12. hahahha…Laughing out loud @ k= and tina’s comments…
As much as I do love the dress, Frieda really doesn’t do it any justice and those heels..Omg! she looks like she is standing on stilts (literally) and about to fall off.
But then again, I’m one of those people who is thinks that it is absolutely unfair that she got all the attention (for a 5 minute “not-so-great” performance) as opposed to all those deserving kids + Dev.
    I heart Dev Patel :)

  13. I hate how evil and jealous people get when a desi sister is doing well for herself. She’s gorgeous! Good for her. As far as hard work is concerned, she’s marketed herself without coming from any star family and still has succeeded. I’d rather see her all day than any Kareena, Deepika or Rani.

  14. I’m not a fan of that dress, it’s overwhelming her. The dress looks a little big on her, and (I may regret this) but I really like the styling on the model with the peek-a-boo black slip under. PS I really miss that dress Freida wore to the Slumdog premiere in Toronto!

  15. I think the dress is “haute.” It’s something very original and fresh.

& its also surprising that she sat in the front row for this show! will we see more Freida in D&G ?

  16. Te dress/shoes are giving her a bit of a lollipop look, but I think she looks nice. I like Frieda in general, but I can see why people are getting a bit annoyed with her for being all over the place…I just hope once the heyday dies down she’ s able to dig into some good roles and be a legitimate actress, and not some one-shot Sienna Miller It-Girl type.

And I know this a fashion blog so it doesn’t really apply here, but I wanna see more Dev! Gosh- think of the ladies! hahah ;)

  17. as any mom would say, pull your shoulders back and stand up straight… I think she needs to work on her posture. I like the way she has pulled together this look though.

just keep hoping she can actually act and make it big. She definitely has the spirit to go places.

  18. Frieda looks fine but the dress is the one of the ugliest ones I’ve ever seen! It looks a reject from a high school design class.

  19. She looks a little tired, maybe a jet lag or late night parties. The dress looks bulky on her.
Apart from her luck and being pretty, I think it’s her genuine and friendly nature, at times star-struck which the celebs and designers there must have enjoyed. I hope she gets longer roles to improve/show her skills, and builds a better taste in clothing and styling.

  20. @archana:
i read she has worked very hard and knocked on more than 100doors in b-wood and got turned down, but had faith in herself and look where she is today. she even struggled as a model when she was turned down tellin she was too fat, started crazy dieting and almost became anorexic.. poor gal! why does no one say anything when desi gals like kareena/sonam (b-wood families) or priyanka/lara (beauty pageants) get it easy? they havent worked very HARD have they? its quite commendable that this girl from nowhere with average next door girl looks has marketed herself so well and reached this far :)))(sorry PnP for ranting off)

coming to the dress, the dress is lovely but freida somehow looks lost in it. looks like the dress is wearing her..

  21. @…many of the comments above (particularly preeths)
I think that’s the problem with “celebrity” these days…it’s 100% about luck
and even when it isn’t the “hard work” is starving and selling yourself- rather than your talent
siiiigh…she looks good, if a little out of place

  22. I don’t really like the dress too much it doesn’t do a whole lot for her but she still manages to look good and wow first row at the D&G show I am SO JEALOUS of her ughh so unfair why couldn’t this all happen to MEE?!

  23. There are many people in the world who work hard, struggle all their lives; they don’t deserve that, so hard work is just a part of success for some and for others, it’s their luck or destiny.

  24. lol ya Frieda might not have had a lengthy or w.e role in Slumdog but I’m sure she still put in a lot of hard work.. and like someone mentioned above.. it’s not like all the other B-town babes slogged away before making it big. Some ya def but some.. 90% luck

  25. Freida was more than lucky. She was determined! I think she’s a good looking girl, and she struggled to make it in Bollywood. in fact, she never did. Slumdog was going to be a straight to DVD release, but fate had another plan. We all know that she doesn’t have the right “look” for Bollywood. Her skin is too brown, her eyes aren’t green or blue. She’s beautiful and Hollywood is apparently happy to embrace what Bollywood couldn’t. I wish her and Dev all the luck in the world.

@ Axi: I totally agree with you. It’s funny how people will pick her apart. She is beautiful enough for Hollywood. Maybe someday, Bollywood will catch up. She is universally beautiful. In America, universally beautiful people often do better, meaning people with features that could make them look like more than one race/culture. Beyonce’s blond hair makes her universal, Angelina’s lips make her universal, Kenya Moore’s hazel eyes make her universal. Scarlett Johansson’s curvy figure make her universal, Halle Berry’s overall beauty make her universal. Eva Longoria’s delicate features make her universal. And Freida Pinto’s facial structure make her universal. A lot of people said they thought she was Hispanic/Latina when they first saw her, not Indian. What does that really tell you?

my Q is why do people always pick only freida apart for being where she is out of plain ol luck? umm its not like sonam kapoor or kareena worked very hard did they to get where they are? im sure they havent even seen what an audition is like :D its crazy how people root for an underdog and when the underdog is successful they write him/her off.. ??!!???

and about her talent, we dont know yet! only time will tell. but to have your first film win an oscar is something very very few people can boast of.

that said, i hope she remains down to earth and humble as thats what has made her endearing (i hope)

  28. she looks good as always, don’t mind the belt but not to fond of the shoulder flower.

@ NIRALI, totally agree with the universal look, even I thought she looked latina, so will fit into hollywood perfectly.
I always find it strange how people think ASH and HRITHIK look international simply because they have green/blue eyes and light skin, its so abvious they are indian, can never be passed off as anything else, unlike freida. If people have that mixed race look it helps, Diya Mirza’s looks would work internationally.

  29. its nt like she didnt work hard..totally agree with preeths..people like kareena had a sir name which made their luck ..or deepika she had a debut wit a superstar i much more prefer mrinalini sharmas acting over hers wich debuted the same year..even kareena didnt got much acting talent at tat time.. while she did mujhe kuch kehna hai..
freida had studied acting ..trained in classical and salsa dance its not like she didnt even knew wat she ws doin and bamnnn..she gt the attention..she might hv worked hard for this part..she got a call back for the movie after six months of auditions.. she is a simple normal girl who worked hard for her career and now she caught her luck so let her enjoy..m so fed up of people being jealous of her ..
coming to the real point ..i think she looks real nice here..and WOW for front row! way to go freida

  30. i like the look overall but I feel she looks a little like a girl doing dress up in mommy’s clothes…. cant figure why exactly!

  31. @preeths (ok, I know this is sort of too late but)
I never targeted Freida specifically, I just meant that that was how it is. It’s part of the reason why I love Sonam- she’s very very honest about that. She knows (and has stated, numerous times) that her fame is almost entirely contrived from her father. Kareena on the other hand…well :/
    It’s just very ironic.

just wondering why you didnt mention the obvious hemline on freida’s dress??? it looks more obvious than aishwarya’s dress at the Pink Panther 2 Premiere at the 59th Berlin Film Festival!
