Freida On Cosmopolitan: (Un)Covered

Comment image 46

Freida also graces the cover of Cosmopolitan in a Spring 2009 Blumarine dress except this cover is just so bland!

Catch more of Freida in Cosmo here.

P.S. Either the dress was modified or the stylist just took the loose draping and put it around her shoulder and tied it across her waist. (Now that reminds me of dancing lessons where we’d just tie our dupatta around our waist! ;) )

  1. this is just wrong.
she is not covergirl material. does not have the necessary oomph. like rani mukherjee or jennifer aniston…pretty girls but dont have the appeal to make u want to pick up a mag off the racks.
well…maybe aniston can do that…but she scores major in the sympathy sector.

  2. I dont think the stylist changed the draping, the dress is definately a different version. Notice how the draping around the waist is missing…

  3. I think Pinto is more of a “girl-next-door” , bubbly charming pretty girl ….different from the sexy sirens that Cosmo usually features! And maybe thats the reason why the Vogue and the Cosmo covers failed to impress. The parted lips and the squinting eyes din’t really work for her.

  4. She has pretty big hips for someone as petite as she is…. Is that why the gowns looked kind of odd in some of her poses even on the red carpet? This silhouette works way better on her frame than ones that are shaped to hug the body all the way to the butt.

But completely agree with SHEEBA, these cover poses don’t do anything for her.

  7. OMG! The cover is either heavily photoshopped esp. under eye and cheek region or she does not photograph well.. I have to lean towards the former, going by her prior pictures!!

  8. This picture is unforgivable ….They should hire me. I am WAY better at photo shop that whoever did this…LOL !
Plus the way her hair flying out is hilarious

  9. i am gtn a lil tired of Freida now. 1st i found her cute and stylish, but the kind of coverage shez gtn for a 15 min role in SM is just wrong! i am not jealous or anything – it just seems she has too much coming her way that’s not justifiable. if i never saw another freida cover agn, it would b too soon!

  10. Hahah how did I know this was going to happen..ppl gettin tired of her already. We pump people way too hard in the first place.. Frieda was never “stylish” because she was always styled by someone else, however she was cute…n pretty. I jus look at her n think..wow..this is a total example of how looks can get u very very far.

  11. She always looks better when photographed outside of India… maybe she just isn’t getting any good vibes while in India or the photographers there aren’t doing her justice… just by 2 cents..

  12. I agree with pretty much what everyone has said. It’s a horrible photoshop job, and her body looks strangely disproportionate.
@ Sharin: Totally agree! It bothers me that when the whole Slumdog Millionaire craze started, little attention was paid to Dev Patel, who objectively had the larger role in the film (he played the main character after all!). He’s only 18 and he’s remained completely grounded and down-to-earth, in spite of the fact that he’s the more veteran actor of the two. I initially liked Freida for her warm demeanor and mega-watt smile, but now, it’s as if she’s become completely wrapped up in the “celebrity image”.

  13. @Sharin – You are so right. The Freida we see is nothing but a product of the hyper-active media. She’s totally overexposed, appearing on so many magazine covers and in media appearances. Its natural that people will find her less and less interesting.

  14. B-O-R-I-N-G! She brings no life to the picture, the dress is wearing her.
I’d like to see a new “flavor of thew month”
    I agree with Sharin too.

  15. theres WAYYYYYYYY too much going on the cover as well.
i would LOVE to see dev on a magazine cover.. BY HIMSELF.

and i agree with most of the ppl.. shes getting too much attention.. for basically nothing.

  16. does anyone else miss the old magazine covers…I mean from the 80s. I remember my mom’s feminas etc were more likely to have the face of the model and not the dress as the cover. now it is all about what they are wearing and how much their body was airbrushed.

  17. omg did anyone notice the model, her expression SCREAMS “gimme something to eat” lol.. She looks sick..And what happened to Freida’s face???

  18. I know what you are talking about nefritti. I loved the feminas from early nineties ..My favorite were a gorgous black and wihte cover with noyonika..and one of Lisa Ray in polka dot bikini.
This magazine is all about “the blumarine dress” Freida looks bad ..the hair looks bad as well… nothing working for on this cover.

  19. @ sharin – “looks can get u very far”??? U come to mumbai and pune, u’ll c stunners in college… People wouldnt even give a second look at someone like Frieda.. Seriously! Its just some big-time luck that she’s got!

  20. I think its really unfair how some people here are criticising Freida for being lucky. C’mon, if this had happened to any one of us we would enjoy the fame just as much as she is. After all how many 23 year old, first-time actors have been part of an oscar winning phenomenon. And what’s wrong if she’s been lucky…a lot of people get famous for reasons other than hard work. Shilpa Shetty made her millions in the UK for winning a reality show no one even wanted to participate in…Aishwarya Rai became famous for her drop dead good looks which she didnt do anything for, she was just lucky she was born to look like that. So if this is Freida’s moment of fame its only fair that she make the most of it. It may or may not last but that’ll be her luck too. And lets face it, she’s done a pretty good job by turning up looking great at most events and carrying herself with confidence on all the talk shows…a much better ambassador than the seasoned Anil Kapoor who was a complete embarrasssment.

it may not just be big time luck!!
i read that she approached more than 100ppl to get into movies but was always turned down but she believed in herself until she got picked up by danny boyle.

like they say in SDM– it maybe her destiny :)

  22. Iif she really went and knocked on all those doors, I must say hats off to her- maybe she’ll be just as persistent in landing more work (will be interesting to see how she dresses without the stylist, though).
That said, WHAT is with the Photoshopping? Any points they scored by having her smile are just taken off by the weird squint. Fug cover, Cosmo.

  23. i agree… Indian mags just don’t style Freida well. It’s almost like they’ve been putting all those gori chitti actresses on the covers & now they feel compelled to feature Freida ‘cos she’s world famous, but they don’t know how to make her look good… BAH!

  24. are we commenting on her photo or something else…. !! yea she doesnt look good in this one but she is a prety and gorgeous woman…and every good look of a celebrity is styled by a stylist guysss ..wats wrong if she is styled by one of them..and guys woman are alwaysss alwayssssssss center of attention…they get more publisized than the hero…for dhelli 6 we saw so much more of sonam kapoor than abhishek..didnt we??? we see actresses posing for magazine covers more than actors ..y??? cmon guys giv her break…SDM is a movie wich whole india is proud of and she is part of it…. let her enjoy ..starting from the person who played like a minute in the movie will be proud to be part of it..

  25. @xoxo, I totally agree with you. I definitely think there’s something else going on with these Freida comments! It’s no big deal. These little negative comments against Freida will in no way, shape or form hinder her career.
