Makin’ It Work!

It isn’t an outfit (a Rohit Bal) I’d ever gravitate to, but Freida undeniably looks lovely! And her earrings (from Anmol) are absolutely lustworthy.

Thanks ‘D’ for the ID.

  1. I like the earings, prefer twinkle’s emerald earing. Hate her shoes, especially because the dress is not long enough to cover her heels. hair, make up and smile are great.

    • Agree – hair and makeup look good. But the shoes are ugly and too small. I have noticed that she has a tendency to wear shoes a size too small and her toes hang over the edge – not a good look.

      • it’s not da shoe…i think she has very narrow feet so her foot comes all da way in the front…coz we always put pressure on our front rather den back. i know dis coz i have da same problem.

  2. Don’t like the gown because of the velvet, but she looks lovely. Great make-up and amazing smile.
    Nice earrings.

The Rohit Bal runway dress looks better.

  3. @D and PnP,
I am sure you guys know for sure this is a Rohit Bal outfit, but how do you ID it? I mean when if someone showed me the top “side by side” pic, I wouldn’t be able to confidently say it’s the same designer or even variations of the same dress…how do you do it? just curious?

  4. i think she probably looks the best among everybody else at this particular event. To all who says she looks average, its obviously a case of intense jealousy. you are probably thinking “How did she get that big, normal suburban girl like me?” and well if you call her face average then i would love to be average. Just because she doesnt load 10 inches of makeup it doesnt mean shes not beautiful. its easier to imagine her without makeup and she still looks lovely. she is a true inspiration and her choice of clothing i have to admit is classy and royal. Less is more and she obvioucly believes in it. Having said that, i have to say her style is more international which is probably why she gets tough love on HHC.

  6. I Just. Don’t. Getit. What’s with this new wave of velvet? Am I the only one reminded of musty old curtains at broken down Gymkhanas when I see a velvet anything? It doesn’t even photograph well. I mean, give me one redeeming feature, seriously, because I just. don’t. GET. it.

  7. Not even my immense love for kalamkari prints can save the velvety top :( Like the runway version (minus the velvet, of course). Frieda looks charming though.

  8. The armhole is too big, chest looks flat and the length is weird. It’s a beautiful outfit but overall too big for her. Wish she’d got the fit right cos her face looks lovely.

  9. Is this a dress, an anarkali-ish kurta or what is it? For a dress, the length seems to be short, for a kurta, it’s too long…supposed to be worn with a churidar?

Not that I don’t like it – I do. If only I knew what it is :P

  11. dont see a lot of rohit bal on this blog…
him and JJ and a few others who are the “old guard” are to be complimented in light of the recent copy cat designers that have infected the trade…
    kudos to their artistry …

  12. Disappointed with her choice – the print..looks like an old curtain print. Very dull too. BUT SHE looks lovely. Is this supposed to have a churidar underneath it? Cannot see it. Looks kind of odd.

Love the earrings! and love the shoes.
