Dia and Sahil tied the knot today in Delhi with the bride wearing a Ritu Kumar lehenga and the groom a white sehrwani. She looked lovely!

Congratulations to the couple.

P.S. Anyone else reminded of this appearance of Dia for Ritu Kumar’s Falkhnuma collection?

  1. She looks lovely.
Although I have to say her choice here is really surprising. I was expecting something a lot different.
    Anyways, best wishes to her.

  2. The old fashioned me expected reds, pinks and orange, or some bright profusion, so, I am somewhat disappointed. But it doesn’t take away the fact that’s it’s a beautiful lehenga and she looks lovely in one of my favorite designers. Gorgeous necklace….wish she had worn more bangles. Sahil looks pretty handsome as well! Above all, I am happy to see her share special moment with her fans. Congrats to the couple.

  4. Aww she looks so happy. And she looks absolutely stunning. I have to agree with everyone else here that I’m underwhelmed. The old-fashioned me loves the reds, pinks, and golds on a bride at the wedding. Congratulations!

  5. I think she chose green to reflect her muslim side (step dad). The beige colour and the necklace are supremely underwhelming. But her smiles makes up for everything!

    • I’m Muslim & there is no such thing as green being an auspicious colour for the community…it’s a huge myth! That’s why you see Muslim brides in a variety of colors, with most of them being influenced by cultural factors….usually the reds, pinks & maroons in India…white among the Arabs, etc.

    • But speaking of reflecting on her dad’s Muslim hyderabadi side, I was hoping she’d wear a khada dupatta for one of her events. We’ve seen so many versions of Anamika Khanna’s take on it (esp. the one Sonam wore at Cannes) but the actual traditional version needs more main stream attention outside of Andhra Pradesh. Sania Mirza did wear it at her wedding & it’s a gorgeous piece of garment that can be done in sooo many color permutations.

Oh well, Dia looks happy. Guess that is all that matters :)

  6. What a bride wears at her wedding is a supremely personal decision based on her taste and also family background and I am glad that Dia wore outfits that reflected her personality and veered away from the traditional chammak challo type outfits we have seen most actresses wear at their weddings. She has looked lovely in each and every event for her wedding and I think she looks gorgeous in the wedding outfit too.

  7. Like her smile and how happy she is. Congratulations to the couple!
I always thought beige is not Diya’s color as it blends with her skin tone and doesn’t complement it. And alas she choose that color for her wedding attire. Dint like her choice of jewellery also. Rose pink would have looked wonderful on her.

  8. She’s actually wearing a sharara. If you look online you can see it is not a lehenga. A bunch of websites also said it is a sharars, thus the longer shirt. I like the fact that she wore a different type of outfit to each event – anarkali, lehenga and sharara. She looks beautiful, not overdone.

  9. Dia looks amazing. I don’t see what the fuss is about the color, it suits her very well. I have never seen such a classy bride featured on Highheel. Congrats to the lovely couple.
