    • Yup!!! Duppatta’s are mostly worn for formal events like weddings / sangeets etc… for daily wear to office / college etc, dupattas can safely be eschewed as long as you follow the foll. 3 rules

      1. No deep necklines
      2. Kurta should be of thick material (not see-through)
      3. The Kurta should be slightly loose, not skin fitting / too tight

      Hope this helps!

  1. I love this female and her sense of style.
Wish she would surprise us a little tho…give us some edgy looks and bling ..that would be awesome!

  2. In the bollywood word of bling-infested saris, loud garish salwar suits and kundan jewellery overload, I thank Dia Mirza for being a breathe of fresh air and reminding us that desis can do minimal chic too.

It’s so easy to forget, but we do have our timelessly elegant classics as well: kanjeevaram silk saris in jewel tones, white chikan kurtas, floral chiffon saris with a string of pearls, all of which are eternally, effortlessy stylish.

  3. i want those earrings and her outfit. she looks radiant and angelic in the pics. good job p & p for posting this. what a refreshing change from the blingy saris and tacky nouveau riche socialites that are sometimes featured here.

  4. oh i lovee this look…So refreshing and she looks stunning, wish we could see more of this style on other celebrities!!! My most fav picture on this blog..

  5. Seriously, I too am planning on stitching this when I visit India. Dia Mirza is a very beautiful girl and I have always found her very graceful too.

  6. love love love it . And its not messy do , I’d call it casual ;)
Its the Indian Girl Next Door Look. I’ve always loved jhumkis – sweetens everything !

  7. Pat on the back for me!! .. I have the exact same outfit and wear similar stuff to work everyday!!!
This is so my style … Yay.. This makes my day !! :)

  8. The material of the outfit is so similar to the traditional kerala Sari.

    Looks gr8…

Plsssss tell me from where shall I get thos Jhumkis …online ..?

  9. Whe I read this post earlier I loved the Kurta she is wearing…I found this in Fab India today :) Looks even better in reallife., It has simple white applique work detailing on it

  10. i love this! the Jhumkis make the outfit. i’m enchanted by the simplicity of this, when so much out there is so ornate. back to basics!
