In Sabyasachi

Wearing an embroidered sheer sari by Sabyasachi with earrings from the designer’s newly launched jewellery line, Deepika attended the Marathi Filmfare Awards on Friday evening in Mumbai.

Thankfully, there was no make-up issues here. She looked gorgeous.

On an aside, I really wish she’d saved this sari for a Cannes red carpet appearance. That extended pallu totally deserved it and would’ve really had a moment at an event like that.

  1. I’m not a fan of net sarees, but that said, this one is really pretty, except perhaps that extra train. The usual pallu would have worked fine because it’s such a rich saree. Deepika does looks gorgeous. Love the hair.

  2. The saree is doing nothing for her. It is drab and all that fabric overwhelms even a statuesque person like Deepika.

But, she is doing plenty for the saree. Her smile is saving the look.

  3. Gorgeous outfit . Why has sabya been forgotten. He can create better with his eyes closed than the Manish and Abu Sandeep atrocities unleashed during Diwali.
In the close up pictures on other sites I thought the make up was rather heavy handed but overall its a stunning look

  4. She’s looks gorgeous in this but I still don’t think this would have made an impact at Cannes. It is fine for this event or another Indian film awards

  5. Are those two seperate pallus or one pallu split into two? The saree instantly reminded me of the ones worn by Sonam Kapoor on two ocassions during Neerja’s promotions. They were by Jani n Khosla. Loved those two looks. http://www.highheelconfidential.com/sonam-kapoor-in-abu-jani-sandeep-khosla-at-neerja-promotions-2/

Not sure whether the comparison is fair but not liking this one (DP’s look). P.S- P&P, searching the archives have become cumbersome on hhc. Links have been posted after searching the same on google. Earlier we just used to type celeb’s name with name of the designer and all the files used to appear in one single click.

  6. With shaleena as the stylist, my standards for DP have dropped drastically, so as long as she’s not looking like a green goblin or wearing curtains, I’m good. the sari looks so good on DP that I’m ignoring the flat hair

  7. The saree doesn’t do anything for her. The makeup is heavy and oily. The train is just so unnecessary… not adding any thing to the look. She has done much better in sarees earlier. This one is a miss.

  8. It’s just a net saree with an overly long pallu. Someone as gorgeous as this, and with access to the best, chooses to wear this outfit, which does literally nothing for her. I think our standards for her have dropped so low that even an ordinary look is lauded.
