Vision In White?

Update: Deepika is in Shantanu-Nikhil. Thanks ’tisha’.

……………………………………………………………………….

After subjecting us to some very garish outfits, it was nice of Deepika to go back to something simple. We love it and am sure you will too!

(P.S. Don’t be too surprised but this simple sari might be a Manish Malhotra creation, from an older collection.)

  1. She is so boring. Seen this look on her before similar hairstyle, same bindi, sari. Girl has everything, height, body..wish i could see her in something else than the usual stuff.

  2. loooove it….simple sari, great draping that doesn’t show too much skin. the sari is not well draped over the shoulder though. considering this was probably a TV appearance it is good to see her covered up for the “family” audience!!

  3. Saree is beautiful, Deepika looks pretty.
But..iit looks as if she has just wrapped it around hastily..doesn’t look like a properly drapped saree.

  4. i think she looks REALLY pretty in the first picture…but she didnt look as good on screen… as she came on the stage i couldnt help but compare her to sonam.. she is such a “plain jane” compared to her…but i have to admit she looks better here than all the cc2c premiers combined.

  5. you know…I have to say, she’s not as “pretty pretty” as Ash or Sonam, but she’s just hot
    period
unfortunately, she plays it off at most events, and during most interviews

  6. Yea right from her first movie I thought she looked like Esha as well.. and it’s very noticeable in CC2C. Lol @ the satyam shivam sundaram comment haha. She looks so old school in this picture. I find it so weird that so many people on this site think that Sonam is prettier… I think Deepika wins by a landslide.

  7. P.S – I do like the look though. She looks very cute and pretty in the pic on the right.. she should look like that more often (..young)

  8. methinks Deepika is conventionally prettier, by indian standards, but Sonam is definitely quirkier, fun & way more stylish – dat girl knows her way around fashion & takes risks, while Deepika is more sedate. Well, it takes all types…

P&P, could u pls id this saree & designer… pls pls pls. i just love it!

  9. She looks great. I’m glad there is at least one actress who does not believe in that ridiculous peek-a-boob style of draping a sari.

  10. Deepika looks lovely and elegant. Regarding the debate between Deepika and Sonam, in my opinion, I think that Deepika may have a more sultry look (wide eyes, pouty lips), but Sonam has a more classic look (a la Audrey Hepburn). While Deepika may be considered more sexy and attractive, Sonam is much more beautfiul.

  11. It’s a lovely sari, and a nice departure, but I do think someting is missing. One problem is that this ensemble makes her look as though she has no curves at all–a very bad look for a sari. A heavier material would have worked better.

  12. I think ppl ought to get a life and stop spreading the hate…i’m surprised nobody taught u this simplest quote in life: “if u’ve nothing good to say…just dont say anything” (instead of spreading the hate everywhre…the worlds already a nasty place.)

I love the somber look on her…indeed, like a vision in white :D

  13. Wow, we have many Sonam fans overhere. :)

Well, in my opinion, they’re both pretty in their own way. Deepika is EXTREMELY photogenic on the screen (more so than Sonam) but Sonam looks better in pictures. In terms of actual beauty, I think ‘Zara’ puts it best and I agree completely with her. Sonam has a bigger bone structure, while Deepika is more slender and petite.

Here, Deepika looks nice and simple. A welcome change from the faux pas’ at the CC2C premieres.

  17. I appreciate the simplicity of the sari but it reminds me off a kam wali outfit becuase of the draping and also the border. SOmetimes Deepika is amzing and somtimes very disapointing. THis time it was somewhere in the middle.

  18. i think i relate to sonam more because i look sort of like her: we have the same measurements, similar facial features, are the same height and around the same age. and she’s very expressive, in her movies and her photographs. we even have similar educational backgrounds…which is weird. i like her body, it’s very well proportioned.

what bores me about deepu-dearest is that she’s styled to the brink of monotony, and she needs to break through the whole PR entourage and show us who she really is, because i really want to see it! these photos sort of emphasize IMO deepika’s slenderness, and saris typically fare better on hourglass-shaped women.
