In Zara

For the issue unveiling of Filmfare’s Awards edition, Deepika went white hot in a cropped top and pencil skirt from Zara and sky-high Louboutins. Giving the all-white look some color were gold Eina Ahluwalia trishul earrings, a necklace from Mawiand red lips.

What really made this look though was the sleek middle parted ponytail. Looks like she heard some of y’all’s concerns about overdoing on the puffed one. ;)

She looked smokin’ but I do have two minor gripes about the look. I wish she’d worn either the necklace or the earrings and, the padded innerwear was a wee bit distracting.

      • 1) Umm, love shopping there but, Zara is high street fashion @ it best. NOT high fashion & it shows.
        2) Small heads do not tolerate tight pulled down hair. The proportions are then always off, especially when one is a tall leggy gal. Volume, Volume. Personal experience :/
        3) The orangey lipstick looks garish against the pure white, + too much costume jewels.
—> Kind of tacky, & ends up looking wannabe & try hard.
Better luck next time, i am sure.

  1. No, just no. After Vidya B, this is another girl who really should consider letting her stylist go. She used to look lovely and more like herself during Yeh Jawaani etc promotions. These days, she just looks like she’s trying too hard and ends up looking over-styled and costumey.

  2. Her hair looks like a greased wig , one that we see in our daily soaps..I love the entire styling though, her confidence of her great body can show through, just wish she could do something else with that hair. I love Zara..!!!!

  3. The hair is completely awful and the outfit is something Kim Kardashian would wear. I don’t understand how Deepika has been consistently dressing badly. She would look so pretty with her hair worn down and a simple, classy outfit. Only Sonam Kapoor would be able to rock this hairstyle.

  4. I’ve noticed she tends to wear a lot of padding under her dresses to give the impression of a more curvier figure. Here it’s very noticeable that she’s a wearing a padded bra. Even with the dress she was wore at the Zee Cine Awards, she was wearing some kind padded innerwear to draw attention to her backside. Anyways, if we are talking about the look, I don’t have a problem with top or skirt itself but the whole look is too formal for the event. The hair is very unflattering as well, the only BW lady I’ve seen carry of that hairstyle is Aish Bachchan at Cannes when she was wearing a Sabya sari.

  5. Too much going on..looks like she is trying too hard to look like a fashionista! nt everyone can pull off middle parting hair! It wud have been better if she had kept it simple!

  6. Such a beautiful girl, why does she have to try so hard? I wish she’d kept the dress, let her hair loose (yeh jawani style), toned down the makeup – 20 times, and gotten rid of the jewellery altogether. f

  7. She looks terrible !! She does not have thick hair to carry off that hairdo.
and that extreme padding in the top…c’mon ! Time to be comfortable with your body.
Also, is it just me or she s resembling Divya Khosla (from Yaariyan) a lot here .

  9. The outfit looks cheap !! A pencil skirt where your hip sticks out like that is a no no…I blame the fabric of the outfit for this tacky look. Jewelry is way too distracting. She must have borrowed the outfit from Kim Kardashian !!!

  10. Okay so What I don’t understand is , she is so gorgeous why does she need to go so over the top. Why can’t Anaita for once keep it simple for her. Why go over-board?? And I can’t believe m saying this for Deepika cause she is just so beautiful, but according to me neck-down is pretty good, it’s neck-up which is BADD!!! Why ANAITA??

  11. Absolutely love!!! And the relative novelty appeal is great. A very minor nuance, maybe the makeup could be more contoured to make the look bolder – even underline the eyes more and more contouring. But so minor, love this gorgeous lady and her million watt smile and her self made success.

  12. You crazy women with your experimenting. Deepika’s jaw is too chiselled for her to carry off the flat hair look. That only looks good on round faced women like Ash or broader cheek/face like Sonam.

Poor Deeps, she had such a nice pouf going for her. you guys had to go and ruin it for her.

Don’t listen to anyone Anaita/Deeps! Your poufy hair looked awesome!!

  13. Ghastly is the word for this. The outfit highlights the fact she has hardly any curves, and her features almost look scary with that hairdo. Hope she never repeats this.

  14. absolutely dislike. 2/10 from me. and those 2 points are just because, well, because i feel really sorry for her here, and i never thought i would ever feel sorry for DP.

  15. No no no no……totally off….terrible….hairstyle, shoes, makeup…everything too severe…the whole styling is not working…she was wrong if she listened to your suggestions..heeee.

  16. This is one time when her puffy ponytail would’ve saved the look! I’m sorry P&P, sometimes you get it all wrong — fashion isn’t just about changing it up, but having a signature style. So if DP’s is a puffy hairdo, so be it. It goes with just about any look — Western or Indian — or outfit.

In this case, a slightly longer skirt length, below-knee, would’ve also improved the overall effect.

    • Sure, fashion is about establishing a signature and creating an impact but fashion is also about exploring yourself through your clothes, discovering new shapes, colours and styles. If everyone kept wearing the same clothes/hair/accessories day in and day out, the world would be a very dull place no?

      • Not really. To each their own; there will always be the lot who keep changing up their style, but one should also stick to what works for them, and know what to try out when

  17. It’s must’ve sounded like a great look but didn’t turn out so. Not right for her body type. But I like the full white and I actually like the hairstyle. I’m happy she’s experimenting. She is beyond amazing.
