In Gauri and Nainika

Deepika attended the Elle Beauty Awards wearing a one-shoulder shimmery Gauri and Nainika gown. Loved the hairdo and the winged eye!

Having said that though, the gown itself is giving me a sense of déjà vu with that puffy sleeve.

  1. She looks gorgeous and the gown is very beautiful. However, i do not like one arm puffy style. It looks like her one arm is in a cast.

  2. I think it looks like the gold gown she wore for the Lux Golden Rose Awards in 2017. In recent times I find her looks to be too matchy-matchy – all black, all white, all silver…there needs

In recent times I find her looks to be too matchy-matchy – all black, all white, all silver…there needs to be a pop of colour or some sort of variation…until then we’ll pretend to appreciate the winged liner and different parted hairstyle :)

  4. Once upon a time I used to look forward to Gauri and Nainika designs. They used to stand out for unique structure and design. Not any more; their designs looks so generic. What happened? Was it all because of the unique fabric?

    • I know, imagine being one of the most beautiful women on planet earth and STILL having your skin lightened. We desis have failed big time in allowing these despicable notions of ‘fair is lovely’ to continue. Also am I the only one who thinks this fabric looks kinda cheap?

      • Yep it’s not the best silver or proper shimmer or lame.. material n hair style is somewhat downer however she pulls it all together n looks lovely.. maybe that’s what it should be like: you wear n make stuff look great or you are so fab that you make anything damn too good.

    • When Sharukh Khan to Alia Bhatt defiantly endorse fairness products, Bollywood is well ensconced in its colorist and racist beauty norms. Apparently if you have money, it’s quite easy to change skin tones. Kajol has proven it.

      • its actually so disgusting… on common grounds, im kind of dark and have always been called black by relatives, few friends. so im sure Bollywood too has to comply somewhat with indian taste for fair. i think its not a choice for most dark people to want to look fair, but the constant hate and comparisons lead to it.

      • Shows you how cynical they are. Alia Bhatt’s mother, Soni Razdan is half-German, half-Kashmiri. So Alia literally doesn’t need any skin lightening, yet she will endorse such products setting unrealistic beauty standards for the average Indian women.

  5. One thing I’ve noticed is that P&P will never give a 10/10 or even a 9/10 to Deepika or any Manish Malhotra outfit out there. Y’all got some beef?

  6. its always deja vu with deepika… puffy sleeves, high slit, same boring silhouette.. seriously how blind can she be? isn’t high time to hire another stylist?

  7. aside from the obvious strangeness of the puffed cuff, the fit of the gown is a bit off, the slit seems unnecessarily long…lacks the finish one would expect from a well established designer..

  8. This look lacks novelty. I mean the ones we have often seen Deepika do. Nonetheless there is no denying she looks gorgeous. But does the outfit look good?!? Nope
