Sari Style
Before her bash on Sat night, Deepika picked up an Indian Of The Year Awards in Delhi for her special achivement in 2013 that included five blockbuster movies.
For the event, she kept it traditional in an Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla sari, The highlight of the look wasn’t the earrings but the chevron blouse.
She looked great!

Love, love, love. The pattern mix, esp. the chevron is gorgeous.
She is looking FANTASTIC!!!
I love it! She looks so regal and statuesque. I wish she had donned something in the same vein at her success bash.!
Seriously?! You have some blockbuster movies, and you become Indian of the Year??? Everything which is wrong with this country, in that one sentence…
+ 1
So true!
OMG! I was about to say the same thing…. you have a few blockbuster movies and you get the Indian of the year award…. it really can’t get more weird than this!
She wasn’t given the Indian of the Year. It was special recognition in the field of entertainment, Indian of the year awardwent to Stop Acid Attacks NGO. Anyways, she looks fabulous!!!
+1000 !!
They haven’t awarded her “The Indian of the year”…Its just a special recognition for her contribution in some of the biggest hits in 2013.
… and coming back to the fashion… WOW Sabyasachi inspired blouse, much? SO blatant!
Please get your facts right. This sari is an Abu Sandeep classic, so clearly the copycat is Sabyasachi if you think his work looks the same
You do realise they award “Indian of the Year” awards across 11 categories INCLUDING entertainment? A lot of amazing people won for categories like Public Service.
+100 !!
how beautiful
I know this is a fashion blog and I’m sorry for my rant but what’s with this whole hoohaa? Is she the first person in the history of Indian cinema to have 5 blockbuster movies in a year??
I wondered that as well…but to my surprise it’s quite rare to achieve so many in a year! Anyway love her whole outfit, especially that blouse. I just wish Aishwarya Rai, who is a devoted AJSK client would choose desi wear like this.
my thoughts exactly!!
hoohaa means vagina. Maybe you meant brouhaha.
Lol! Best comment in this thread! :)
The vagina ref is a very recent American slang coinage… the usage to mean “ado” is much older (Wiki says prob Yiddish in origin).
Ha! I stand corrected. My apologies. I never did understand hoohaas.
lmao!
Maybe in this century. I am positive that there were so many blockbusters in the 80’s & 90’s . I am glad at least South Indians are getting their due recognition in the north/bollywood movies. After all even Sridevi after acting for a decade in south got her due recognition only after she starting acting in Bollywood . And only got recently awarded the padmashri after like some 30 years in the movie industry.
Absolutely love !!
She looked beyond stunning. And finally an Abu Sandeep saree that looks stunning too.
Simple and gorgeous. The Boys can do this als
btw, 5 hits? Isnt it 4?
I seriously thought this sari + blouse were by Sabya. Looks like Abu Jani got “inspired”
FYI !!!!! if you’ve read “INDIA FANTISTIQUE” which was published a year and a half ago and which was probably shot for way before that ,,u would have noticed it !!! so may be, just may be the inspiration worked vice versa!!!
stunning!!!!!!!!
finally one abu jani sandeep creation that looks simple and good.wonder why aishwarya doesn’t wear such simple designs.
The blouse looks really nice. Would be great if we could get some more pics to see it better :)
That blouse is all kinds of awesome
I want!!
Love the blouse.. but not with this sari. And the earrings are gorgeous.
Just stunning!
She should dress this way more often. Blouse would’ve looked even better with full sleeves
Love love love those earrings ! Where can i find them ?
For me this is the best look of 2013!! Deepika has knocked it out of the ballpark!!
She’s looking gorgeous… Do u have better pics?? I too wish she’s worn an emerald earring ..
Fab! Who styled her? This girl has come a long way from her dreadful bachna e haseenon days
Gorgeous!
