Ditto!

It shouldn’t ever happen, but it did. It wasn’t the dress but it was the jewelry. Both, Dita and Preity were spotted wearing the exact Chopard neckpiece at Cannes 2008. Uh oh! Which stylist let that happen!?

Edit: Kudos to Ash for spotting it on Dita and Nitika for spotting in on Caroline..

High Waisted High Fashion

We first spotted Twinkle Khanna in high waisted pants at the Society Interior Awards, but it looked no where as great as it did on Jasmine Dawda at the party at ‘Wink’!

How fabulous is that jeweled flower detail on her back? Agreed its a little risqué but she wears it really well…

We love.

Kitchen-Quirky

So, Rashmi Uday Singh loves wearing her career on a sleeve, rather around her neck… she must, how else does one explain her showing up at events with various versions of the ‘nimbu-mirchi’ ??!!

But, is it quirky and whimsical or taking it too far? I personally prefer the version on the right, the left is a bit much even for me (and I love kitsch!)!!

Almost reminds me of the Frazer and Haws’ nimbu-mirchi in silver and crystal that they came up with for the Indian market!

Alexander McQueen Fall 08

Alexander McQueen after a trip to India, drew inspiration from the many images of Queen Victoria, the Duke of Wellington, the then Indian Empire and forties/fifties British couture as worn by Elizabeth II and translated it all beautifully into his collection for Fall 2008 ready-to-wear.

There were exquisite dresses, play on saris, severely cut military tailcoats, brocade suits, crisp high-necked shirts, period inspired shoes and millions of dollars’ worth of antique Indian jewelry!

A brilliant, brilliant show in all.
