Round Up: Men’s Style

Here’s a round up of the Bollywood men at the recently conducted Filmfare Awards. Let’s break it down into three categories, shall we?

The Good: Akshay Kumar in Tom Ford, Rajkummar Rao in Giorgio Armani & Shahid Kapoor in Gaurav Gupta.

The Not Quite: Manish Malhotra, Karan Johar in Abu Jani Sandeep Khosla, Ayushmann Khurrana in Canali (With a different tie) & Arjun Kapoor in Shantanu Nikhil (minus the weird pose).

The “Whoa! What are they wearing?”: Ranveer Singh in a custom made Karrtik D suit, paying homage to the Bollywood movies of the 90s and Maniesh Paul in a NM Design Studio suit, which had a hypnotizing effect on my eyes.

Tell us, which look caught you eye, which one was a strict no-no in your book?

L To R: Shahid Kapoor, Ranveer Singh, Rajkummar Rao

  1. Agree with your assessment for the most part. Point to note though: What’s with not wearing any socks?? When did that suddenly become a thing?

  2. In the classics zone, love Akshay Kumar’s suit.
In the tried something different in the classic zone, liked Ayushman. Nice shirt detail there.
In the he’s done this before but it looks good is Shahid with the fitted and cropped no-tie suit look
In the only he can zone, loved Ranveer. He puts the fun in fashion, keeps it unique, and literally no one else could wear this. Kudos to Nitasha.
In the tried but didnt really do anything noticeable, would have to give it to Arjun. That looks is safe but very blah.
    Everyone else looked suitable.

    • I think I love what Ranveer is wearing as well. He is using his clothes to make a statement, and those kind of clothes are the best. You may not agree with the statement, but it is entirely his personality and he owns it.

    • …the Manish Paul guy, too…meanwhile Ranveer is taking his ridiculousness to new heights. Dear Mr. Paul and Mr. Roa, please give Mr. Singh his pose back, so we don’t have to deal with the 70’s car salesman – who thinks he’s the Travolta of the car dealership world – look he’s sporting here, along with antics. At least with the awkward leg-cross pose, he won’t be tempted to run around the red carpet looking too crazy; he’d be too preoccupied by figuring out how to perfectly balance the leg-crossing – the angles at which the legs cross, wether to have a gap (a la Paul) or not (Roa), hands in pockets or on sides…??

  3. I like Akshay and R Rao for looking so dapper and Ranveer Singh for the fun factor. He seems to be having so much fun and his energy is infectious.

As for Shahid …. never really cared for white suits at night events.
Rest of them …. from just ok to pretty bad
