In Gauri and Nainika

Its such a pity that with such a great body, Bipasha always fails to impress on the red/green carpet. First, the Sabyasachi with that bikini blouse and now this Gauri-Nainika number gown with the plunging neckline. We wish she wouldn’t take the ‘less is more’ adage too literally.

  1. Dia Mirza also had a plunging neckline(in silver dress) but you guys were fine with that. I’m sure if Bipasha wore the same stuff that Dia wore you guys would call it a metallic disaster! LOL

  2. @newbie:

its not about the depth of the neckline, its what you wear, how you carry it off and the vibes u give

and that can be sexy or skanky

  3. @ Newbie – Umm no it isn’t the plunging neckline thats the problem it’s the part below that plus the fact that this dress is oh so unflattering! I mean just look at her this is NOT pleasing to the eyes.

  4. agree with newbie , not tat i didnt like dia,,i loved her in tat look bt still !
i liked her in sabya saree… i dont think anythngs wrong with the neckline..the prob for me i think its too much..the back and front.. i like the front as it is bt wud prefer the regular backless style with this dress..bt i think she looks gorgeous..she is sexy..even in a saree tats her thing!

  6. OK, UM… EW? I actually liked this outfit because I saw the side profile… now that the complete picture is here, I can’t see why Bips would choose this. You’re right, Bips hardly impresses on the red carpet.

  7. I like the plunging neckline, that’s not the problem- it’s just that she’s semi-backless also, so there’s a bit too much going on. The color in the first two shots is gorgeous, though.

  8. @newbie, but that was sort of the point wasn’t it, when Dia wears stuff she manages to make it look very soft and feminine, as is her style
Bipasha, on the other hand, has a sultry edge to her that the “less is more” rule really helps with. She always looks best in simple shillouettes with interesting colors ( and this dress is a baaaaaad shillouette for her).

  9. Oh wow! I’ve just seen the orange version of this dress from the runway and i think it’s so beautiful! Wish bips wore that version instead of this blue one she chose…. really do wish.

  10. Beside the dress, look at that makeup! What a divide between the neck and the face and since she is baring so much and it would be difficult to cover the entire area with foundation, I am sure she could find a shade closer to her own skin color!

  11. Wish Bips would have picked something like the runway color, maybe a little darker shade with her dusky complexion… And she’d have looked wow… I think the blue is terrible choice for her…

  12. the problem is that its a combination of too many different things that dont all work together. if she just had that neckline with a simpler bottom it wud be good minus the unnecessary back detail

  13. the only thing i dont like about the dress is the hangy bit at the back

i dont htink the front is too in your face
i think she’d have looked hot if the dress was just plain backless without the hanging fabric

her makeup and hair are awesome i have to say though

  14. @ jiji I agree, I think the orange version would have looked great on Bipasha. She looks beautiful, I think she pulled this interesting silhouette off well. Its her confidence that shines through IMO.

  15. Grammatical correction: You mean you ” wish she wouldn’t take the ‘less is more’ adage too LITERALLY”.- not figuratively!

  16. I liked the stuff on the models but the one on Bipasha is plain tacky. Isn’t her belly button on display through that weird slit. Plus its got all weird drapes hanging and lifting off….funny costume

  17. Ok .. i don’r like it here .. i mean , she’s Bipasha .. got a body that everyoone would die for .. and showing off that is not a big deal, but she never manages to show it off in a very WOW way .. we expect taht from her!!

  18. What are you people talking??! She looks gorgeous..why is it that only people who dole up insanely are considered well dressed on this site? Less is in fact more ladies, this dress is not wow worthy but it surely doesn’t deserve nit-picking. She’s taking chances, and someone said of not matching Indian earrings with such clothes? Really I think it looks awesome, Hollywood has been doing its sine forever with Amrapali what is the problem now
Love her hair and make up. Though maybe orange one would have been more dramatic.

If dia mirza comparison is going on, whose sense of style I really love, but that silver dress she wore is something most people would wear to a club and not to the red carpet. That time you guys didn’t complain about why less is more!

  19. Ok for some reason my comment did not get approved? Perhaps it was a mistake because it was totally on topic. I said: I am not sure about liking the dress but her face and hair look Amazing.

  20. This dress does nothing for her, yes she is super toned and fit etc etc – but she is killing that dress… and what’s with the two tone skin colour her face looks whitewashed compared to the rest of her body – less maybe more – but there are too many slits and gaps and the overall effect is trashy – it looks completely different on the model – not trashy at all…

  21. The design of that grey gown on the bottom left is highly reminiscent of a blue gown Angelina wore a few months ago to an event.

G&N always seem to make poor imitations of Western fashion and hope that nobody will notice.

  22. From a male perspective, she looks confident enuff to carry off what she’s got on, and therein lies the charm, for each naysayers, there’s ten laddie websites, that will be gushing over her cleavage display ( sweet irony!)
