Hrithik’s costar from the movie ‘Kites’, Barbara Mori wore a Roberto Cavalli strapless gown seen earlier in the year on Christina Applegate in a yellow version at the 2009 Golden Globes Awards. We loved this one on Christina way more than Barbara because not only did Christina have the better color on but she also didn’t make the mistake of wearing attention grabbing earrings with her statement necklace.

Obviously, Christina looks way better than Barbara. Everything is wrong about Barbara: the dress color (boring), earrings (too flashy for the necklace), the hairstyle (sad).

I liked Christina’s look a lot more. The colour is great, complements her well ..and the necklace is nice too. Barbara’s is boring.

I agree, Christina wore the better color. But could Barbara even pull off that shade of yellow? So in fairness to her, she chose the color that would work best on her. Despite that, I think Christina’s understated accessories far outshine Barbara’s OTT glam.

I prefer Christina’s gown because of the colour – which is odd because black is a safer colour and I generally don’t like yellow. However both gowns are rather unattractive and prom-queeny. Also, I don’t really like the pinned parts of the gown as well as the very visible corset struts – it gives the gown a very pointy jagged look. Barbara’s in particular makes her look like witch-like.

Christina Applegate wins this round, hands down!! I think due to the lack of any embellishments or textures on the gown, it looks rather staid and black therefore looks really blah!! The golden-ish yellow color on the other hand is enough to jazz up the gown. However, I just don’t like Barbara’s jewelry either – her earrings and the choker as well are both OTT. Christina’s neckpiece on the other hand is simply gorgeous!!
Hmm, I think the collar necklace on Barbara was more of a problem than the earrings. I think if she had skipped the necklace altogether, the earrings would have made quite a statement.
I do agree that the black was a boring choice. Oh, well, maybe nextime!

Barbara is such a beautiful lady! But i hate how the styled her with that ’90s hair do…i think she should have gone with her hair down…with some soft curls
Barbara’s look is extremely dated.. That’s how they did stuff in the 80s-90s. Christina shows us how to update the look with exact same gown.
I rarely agree with how you describe people’s fashion here, but this time you are 100% right, those ear-rings are a big mistake, they make the whole look go away.. she just looks cheap because of those big ear rings.
