In Anupamaa

For QSQT‘s special screening marking its 25 years, Avantika picked a graphic Anupamaa sari. To play off its neon accent and to add bit of a pop, she paired her sari with a neon blouse by Priyanka Duggal. Big earrings, bindi and a side braid completed her look.

    • Says who? I’m not putting you on the spot, but the comments on this conversation are very rude, to the point of being homophobic (towards “short, stocky people”). She’s a celebrity wife and experiments with different styles, and by virtue of that she has much more worth to be featured on this blog than Ash with her arm-hiding curtains or Vidya wearing saris with long blouses in every single pic.

  1. No, I know for sure that I don’t like…she looks overwhelmed. The woman needs to make clothing choices that fits well on her petite frame; better yet, she should check with her sister-in-law who makes great selections.

  2. I just absolutely dislike the mismatched sari-blouse look! If a non-famous person wore this look in public, people would think she was color blind for not realizing that the blouse doesn’t match the sari AT ALL!

    • +!. I love the clothes and even the pairing of that print with neon colour. But i think it doesnt work her stocky frame. Some one with a tall model like figure could could look amazing in this.

  3. The sari on the runway is overall pro t. What’s that black on her? And really avantika is way too stocky for most of the stuff she wears!

  4. You know what? I like it. Ever since she started appearing on these pages, we all have been saying ‘she can’t dress for her body’, in every post.

She is a short, curvy woman who wears what she likes. She seems to like fashion. It’s hard to dress a body type like that. She takes risks and comes out looking more polished than a lot of taller, thinner people. Give the girl a break!

    • Disagree. It’s obvious that she doesn’t dress for her body type when she really could. Rachel Ray is about her height and stocky too, but she doesn’t get criticized for her style, so, no, the rest of us here are not deliberately mean to Avantika. The whole “she wears what she likes, leave her alone” argument is moot on this blog.

      • I agree with “crab”. I think there are clothes than can good look on her and she has looked good in posts covered on this blog.

Also, i find the usage of the word “curvy” really funny. Its like we are scared to say the truth because that has become politically incorrect.

  6. Hideous, pathetic, sad- conjunctivitis giving pictures. With so many resources and money why can’t she step out of the house with something that goes with her body.
Money can’t buy u style it can only give u bad clothes!! And then the rest of us can rock F21 like Gucci :)

  7. She is not a model or an actress, she is a normal girl – unless she asked to be featured on this site, I think it is unfair to subject her to this sort of scrutiny and criticism.

  8. I feel bad for her; we are used to seeing such skinny women on this blog and then it’s her and we automatically compare….
    that sucks for her!

  9. If you are wearing a Saree , for Gods sake get the pleats right. On her the dress looks as she she was in a hurry and somehow draped it.

  10. I like the sari and though I don’t wear sari’s myself, am drawn to bold patterns despite my petite stature. I think she could have pulled it off if the blouse had been just a shock of color and not such an expansive contrast….

There’s a learning curve she’ll get on it, or get a stylist!
