Anushka on Elle: (Un)Covered

Comment image 21

Styled by Sabyasachi in a long coat from his label with a Stella McCartney top, Temperley London pants and Gucci mules, Anushka Sharma features on the cover of Elle’s Oct edition.

Even though the designer showcased fur in his own collection, here he picked a faux fur scarf by Dhruv Kapoor to accompany the separates.

Are you loving the cover?

  1. Seriously what the heck is this? Has he thrown all of the clothing he could find, at her? To me at least, the worst is the awkward positioning of her leg. It looks like she’s holding onto that ankle for dear life.

  2. 1. What is that necklace doing there? It is completely out of place. That goes well only with indian attires
    2. A big NO to fur scarf.
    3. Never thought that i ‘ll say this, bt stella mcCartney is not so good ( but hv to agree that is the only thing which is not OTT)

  3. What is this?? THe styling is atrocious. Its as if they put everything they could find on her. Nothing goes with nothing. And she looks (justifiably!) perplexed!

  4. looks like there was a challenge to throw as many designer and junk in to one cover photo and thats what they did. This is terrible. Listen to Coco Chanel – only get rid of atleast 10 items!

  5. Anoushka’s face has been photoshopped to look thinner andlonger. Her lips have been photoshopped as well. What is to like in this, if its a percentage tally for

    – Photoshopping – then yes the editing gets a 75%.
    – The “costume” – (I refuse to call it an outfit) then its 60%.
    – Make up and jewellery 90%
    – The model that looks vaguely like a Ms Anoushka – 80%
    – For PETA’s sake, the faux fur – 0%

  6. I might be in serious minority here, but I absolutely love the look.
Its has a very classic touch to it with the (thankfully) faux fur, all that bling, the embroidered jacket and that particular shade of red. Even the shoes add to the look. Very reminiscent of Edwardian-era paintings.

The only prob is the photo-shopping of the face. And the background that adds nothing to the cover. Could’ve been a much more shadowy grey..

  7. She looks like a bride that took to her heels, changing her mind at the last minute, throwing on a random jacket she could lay her hands on, in the freezing cold! Nothing else can explain the messy hair, highly discordant ensemble and the confused, scared expression.
