In Nikhil Thampi

While at a soirée last evening, Ananya was photographed in a Nikhil Thampi mini, one that she teamed with a pair of ankle-strap sandals. Props to Ananya for faring better than most others would in this look. That said, we weren’t fans of it… Can I just say Tacktastic?!!

  1. So just because you join Bollywood, do the parents stop monitoring what their kids wear? Don’t they have say? Or do stylists and PR completely take over their lives? This is not policing or regressive thinking. The look borders on indecency and that too for a young girl. Tacky is too mild a word.

    • I am 22.
I wear such dresses. She is the same age.
If you can carry it well, where is the harm? And not that she is looking indecent. It is suiting her body type and she manages to look graceful.

      • Noo she’s 19.. still a teen.. there’s something really abnoxious when a stylish tries to sex up a sweet looking girl … not a fan of dress..I guess she was the only one dressed up inni such short weird clothes in that party..

        • She is an adult, man! Cut her some slack.
I don’t know what’s wrong with the choice of her dress? Everybody in clubs are wearing those kind of dresses! And the party she was attending, it wasn’t an award show or a formal event either.

  2. Of course! Her confidence in wearing this should receive lot of appreciation.
It takes courage to chose the tackiest outfit and then rock it too.

  3. to echo a previous person’s point, what is this need bollywood’s stylists have to over sexualise these young girls in their appearances? Yes, they’re young, fit and should of course show skin if they wish but really is this necessary? There’s a difference between showing skin because you’re confident in your own and feel self-assured and showing skin for the sheer sake of it because you think that’s the only way to command attention to yourself. This dress has clearly been designed to be as naked as possible from the ridiculous half boob crap going on to the dangerously high slit (not to mention the obvious Versace ‘reference’)…..honestly we always blame the stylists but can’t these girls speak up for a change and have that much confidence in themselves to believe they don’t need to display everything in a cut-out body con outfit which is no work of art to begin with in order to look good? Or can’t the mothers say something, I know every girl has the right to dress the way she wishes but with the younger crop when they dress like this you do wonder whether there’s any parental input or if they simply encourage such dressing thinking it’ll somehow propagate their young daughter’s fame factor? Sad, if you think of it and kind of disturbing..

    • Hey folks, why put it on the mothers???? Get a grip folks. Comment on individuals but it’s revoltingg to drag their mothers into this. Why is there no mention of fathers!!! And frankly, if these folks are adults, save the parents the criticism!!

      • Seriously! Maa behan pe matt aao yaar. Keep it civil – comment on the dress and makeup, move on. No need to bring character/ intention into this.

        Jeez!

Come to think of it, a 100 years ago someone your age may have made the EXACT same comment about whatever you are wearing right this moment.

  4. The side split just takes the cake.. you can get on board with the rest but that final detail gives it the firm hallmark of tacktastic…!

  5. Oh kid! Why did you do this to yourself?
Oh a side note, the enire Gen-Next of Bollywood, with all heart and soul, truly believes in “More skin show= more pretty”.
On another side note, seems she directly came from the sets of SOTY2. :p

  7. How do you sit or walk in something so ridiculously designed?
My first reaction was honestly ‘poor girl’. am really not comfortable with a young girl exposing so much.

  8. I do not like the dress at all, but am surprised at the comments. “I am no one to judge, but I am going to judge and say hawwww”. People, calm down! You like the dress or you do not. Let her have her life, even if she chooses to have a public one.

  9. I am relieved. Really relieved that sass and sensuality and even plain good old ‘hotness’ has really nothing to do with an outfit or half an outfit or a quarter of an outfit. It all comes from the eyes …. the ada, how one carries oneself. This young lady’s face is blank. Eyes vacuous, body language ….. limp. If this dress was on a mannequin, it might still have been more attractive. Where can one buy personality ? What is that price tag?

  10. I cannot wrap my head around overtly sexualized teen girl looks.. This girl is probably 16 or 17. WTF was the stylist thinking? More importantly, How did her parents let this happen?

  12. I consider myself an open minded person and don’t try and judge. But this appearance is just disturbing. I see a child in this ridiculous outfit and I can’t fathom if it’s the high expections on her or juts misguided advice that she’s stepped out in this outfit.

  13. Really disturbing to see a young girl being sexified so blatantly to grab eyeballs. I’m not a prude by any standard but this is just sad and disturbing. Bollywood is a dark place.

  14. funny how u never use the word tacktastic for malaika when she is in clothes far more baring… I feel Ananya pulls this off . and she is generally more simply dressed as compared to Tara Sutaria or Jhanvi..

  16. Yikes that’s a bad bad outfit.Like from a d grade bollywood movie where the gangsters moll is dressed in weird outfits with cutouts everywhere to show maximum skin.I can’t believe her parents let her go out like this

  17. Kylie Jenner is the same age and wears similar dresses every day and is lauded for her dressing and hotness. The girl is emulating her. It’s how the world is. No need to overreact. As long as she is carrying it well it should be good and it’s her choice in any case.

  18. Some of the responses on this page are mind boggling. Judgemental much??

She has the confidence to carry her outfit. She looks lovely. It’s never about the dress but about the confidence in carrying what you wear.

If you don’t like, then you don’t wear it. She seems to be a lovely & confident girl, please let it be.

P&P it’s kind of disappointing that you would call such a young girl who is figuring it out tacktastic. Really ??

  19. The dress is tacky. If it were a one shoulder mini without all the unnecessary slits it would look so much better.
It grabbed eyeballs in the worst way possible but in Bollywood all publicity is good publicity.
