For her wedding reception, Amrita picked another Vikram Phadnis colorful creation. Like it better than her Sangeet outfit?

  1. Gogh another ceremony..this would go as the most wedding functions for one wedding in history:) I do love the outfit on the model and not so much on Amrita coz she seems too petite.

  2. oh no! amrita messed this one up. in fact of all the days of her wedding-related occasions, i am liking this one the least. her make up is also bad!

the outfit on the model in the 4th pic is awesome. THAT’s the color scheme Amu should have stuck with.

  3. @arti,

this is nothing arti! she only had 3-4 functions i think. people have weddings held across a fortnight these days…15 days and as many events! it’s weird!

  4. i really like it on her!
she looks really good but she seems so overwhelmed.. bachari.. all these ceremonies lol.

i wish her hair was up.. she doesn’t look very bride-sy lol

  5. She looks like she’s attending someone else’s wedding. Cute outfit though.
@ arti: I had 7 days of wedding stuff.

I agree with priya, love the jewels!

  6. lol
    don’t thnk she’s not enjoying this ;)
to be honest, I like it better on the runway
she still looks nice though- bridal glow and all- and I too heart her jewlery
…just not with the already blingy outfit

  7. Also guys remember that she suffers from rosacea..so it’s not that the makeup is bad, the redness on her cheeks is from her skin problems.

  8. I like her jewelry. Unfortunately the outfit is so busy her jewelery is almost lost in it. Especially the thing on her waist (i cant remember what its called).

  9. i didnt like d colour combination somehow…. i liked it more on the model…. n she isnt looking fresh as a bride must look

  10. @ Anonymous. No , no skin problems, she herself said in some show on mtv that she rubs beet root to get those red cheeks… i say eeks!!!

  12. I think this is the first time I’ve followed pics. for every function for a Bwood wedding, it’s so much fun! Kinda makes me jeal. haha.

In other news… she looks soo cute, I wish she had kept the sleeves long though or sported a tika.
(btw, I had no idea she had rosacea)

  13. its too umm…. common. the average north indian bride wears the same design and colours. its not bad – but its nothing different – nothing to write home about.

@ anon – really? did not know that. always wondered abt her pink cheeks!

  14. Not happening at all! Two such beautiful people can look so disastrous!
Amrita should have picked something more her versus this gastly overdone outfit, that doesnot go with her body frame!
And Mr. Ladak is looking so stunted in the suit! The whole look is not working for him & GAWD please no velvet.. if Mr. Bacchan cant carry it off, who is he!

  15. @anon and jazz – instead of beetroot juice, try ‘benefit’s benetint’ … same flushed look, less fuss than squeezing fresh beetroot juice daily… and it’s not rosacea, this ‘red-cheeked-face’ is a planned look :-)
why, or why, did this girl not do something, anything, different with her hair?????? Maybe she didnt want to wear a maantika or do her hair up in a bid to look ‘youthful’? I can only think of that as an option because for God’s sake, why else would someone want to look so drab (in comparison
) at her own wedding… I love the outfit, but she should have dressed it up a wee bit either with her hair worn differently, or a maangtika, or nosering, or anything that would set the bride apart from the rest of the crowd…Hey, P&P, any pics of Malaika and Kareena at the wedding reception? I’m just so sure Malaika would have outshone her lil sis this time too…

  16. Shes not really looking like a bride and her outfits o.k – but I guess most indian bridal outfits end up looking like this, very bling!

  17. P&P, can you guys provide more info on the jewelry? the model and amrita are wearing the same kind of jewelry. very beautiful!

  18. i wish she had gone with the cut and colors of the lehenga on the runway…like some people have mentioned, the lehenga is way too busy..i prefered the other two lehenga’s she has worn for her wedding thus far..i do like the jewellary though!

  19. it’s easier to dress for someone else’s wedding than your own. the pressure and stress is so great i’ve hardly ever seen brides get it right. plus parents and relatives also interfere in one’s choices. a girl i know wore such a bright red sari, she looked like a tomato. i think amrita’s outfit is ok but not gorgeous.

  20. well most brides wear a very bling design for the reception. but i do wish the bottom part of the blouse wasnt there and she showed her belly instead. that would have provided a break from the blingy-ness.

what do u call that thing that u hang on the skirt?? its quite wasted in this outfit. she needs to wear it another time with a less bling outfit.

  21. one, i don’t find this girl good looking at all.
two, she does not look like a bride with her hair down and her posing et al.
three, i hate xmas colors on clothes.
four, she’s just so boring looking. no oomph.

  22. She looks so ordinary. If I didn’t know I still would’ve thought it wasn’t her wedding! She looks like any other girl who dresses up for SOMEONE ELSE’S wedding! I don’t think her sister stole the limelight she just had a slightly better taste in the clothes she wore.

  23. dont like the outfit much… but i really do appreciate that she went all modest and covered up… unlike those sheer saari disasters and the ugly draping and an overdose of cleavage that we’ve been seeing lately

  24. My first reaction when I saw the pics was Wow! I actually really liked this lehenga and think she looks great, def. better than the other days. However, after reading these comments I can see that a maangtika would have helped her look more bridal.

About the hair being up, I know a lot of people who do their hair up for the wedding, and leave it down for the reception. That’s what I did.

  25. The only thing I like about it is the jewellery..it’s breathtaking! As the others said, had she done something different with her hair or added a tikka the whole bride look would’ve been complete. The runway version of the outfit looks much better.

  26. or rather, the best part of being a bride, i should say! you know, aside from the actual “marrying the one I love” and everything…oh, you get my point. :)

  27. she doesnt look like a bride.. she looks too casual – not enough going on with the embellishments neck up.. hair should have been pulled back and she should have worn a maang tikka, and sindoor.

  28. also, i feel this is the wrong choice for a reception – i think malaika was dressed more appropriately in a more modern sari with white gold jewelry – which is what amrita should have worn

  29. LOVE… THE RUNWAY STYLE!!!!
    especially the 4 th pic…
Not so much on amrita…but my only complaint is that she does not look very bridal! :(

  30. poor amrita should have had her sis pick out her clothes and style! outfit is too much and too busy. she doesn’t look like a bride!

  31. I like the outfit but she looks the same in all of her wedding pics. Wish she had some difference in terms of a hairdo or makeup.

  32. The models do a much better and impressive job and actually look like brides. Amrita doesnt. The day when she should be all jazzed up, she looks like just anyone else!!

  33. i think the choli was supposed to be a shorter length lol.. notice the middle gold bar design thing? it looks like she got it lengthened to make it longer or something.

  35. I was at her wedding and she looked great, the pic is not doing them any justice.. they looked more beautiful at all the functions than these cheap camera photos.. spare her the drama!
