Skirt Style

Aishwarya attended a book launch on Sunday sporting a Patine paisley wrap skirt with a white Anjali Jani shirt and her Dior bucket bag. Crisp shirts with maxi skirts was all the rage a while ago but I don’t think this particular pairing worked. A shorter sleeve white silk top would’ve felt more in sync with the printed skirt.

What do you think?

  1. Ridiculous. That maxi is way too long, the shirt is too “blousy” and her bag is too huge. And the makeup seems to be for a totally different event.

  2. Now imagine her swapping that skirt with a pair of high waisted navy culottes/wide leg pants, tie-up espadrilles or sandals, glossy pink lip and nails. just a few small changes and the chicness goes way up. Her face is all she needs really. Crisp Zara separates and her beautiful fresh skin- not asking for too much!

  3. That shirt is a bit too poofy for that limp skirt and that bag too huge. But never mind, I like the change of pace. She looks nice !

  4. Yes the proportions seems off, and the shirt is not the best choice that could have been made (especially given who she is and the village she has to get dressed), but despite the mistakes, I’m glad it’s a younger look for her and not her either boring or OTT picks – which is her usual way to go.

  5. I really like the skirt but paired with a white tee or pheasant blouse would’ve been a better choice. The bag is the wrong color and size. I am really glad to see her experiment though.

  6. Please fire your stylist Ash. Or if this was a look you put together, then you need a good stylist. Don’t do this to us. That skirt was a hit like some 10 years ago. It looks so dull and limp and pathetic. Does nothing to your gorgeousness.

PnP, would you be kind enough to introduce her and her stylist to Vrisa?

  7. Heh he Still stuck in the 90s with the patchwork skirt.
She really provides for a good laugh early mornings.
Its unbelievable to have a miss world with the most atrocious dress sense

  8. Skirt is fine, makeup is alright, the look is experimental and I’m glad she is not in an voluminous anarkali :P. I like the white color top for the skirt but definitely not that blouse. Bag color should have been different but I’m ok with bucket bag… The more I look at the pics, I feel she pulls it off as she looks like a girl next door and that’s a first :)

  9. I like it a lot actually (unlike majority of folks here). The look is easy breezy and she looks so beautiful (always :P)
So all of that works for me (beautiful + easy-breezy + simple). Isn’t that what fashion is? Being comfortable in your own skin and NOT trying too hard??

  10. I can’t help wondering if she’s avoiding a tan. Why else would her arms and legs nearly always be covered?? I do this with my toddler when I want to avoid slathering sunscreen on him, although I dare say he looks much cuter. ;)

  11. Oh! This is not a perfect look but i’d take this any day over her anarkali tents and gaudy gowns. Btw, why does she always put on tonnes of makeup?
