Sari Style

Aditi wore a sari by Sabyasachi to the designer’s 20th anniversary celebration on Saturday evening. The beige sari with its green floral print seemed to wash her out a bit. Wish she’d added an all emerald earring or necklace to give it a bit of contrast.

What did you think of her here?

  1. Perfect the way it is. Wouldn’t change a thing. Something very old school about it. What a relief from the tsunami of jhagmag and jhatak matak lehengas, shararas and sarees over the last few months. (Plus no one boob drape)

  2. Quite an ordinary saree styled equally ordinarily.
Basically, strip off the Jodhpur background, retro styling with big jewels and bigger sunglasses from Sabyasachi’s campaign models and what’s left would be this. An unimaginative, won’t-give-it-second-look dull floral saree.

  3. She should have gone the whole hog and done the Maharani Gayatri Devi look complete with a pearl necklace and a classic wrist watch.

  5. I agree with M.. sabyasachi shouldn’t allow his clothes to be worn without his styling. The ordinary-ness comes out, this saree is proof that his talent is dying, he’s now just another manish malhotra, mass producing floral and velvet stuff.

  6. My mom had more r less similar sarees in late 80’s & early 90’s..which were bought from the local market,I don’t understand why do we need sabya to design such ordinary chiffon sarees.

  7. This saree had so much potenitial to look classy. But she has totally washed out in this. A string of pearls, low bun, studs insted of danglers, coral lip with winged eye and a classic wrist watch. She would have notched up the look

  8. totally love this look. Soft, dewy and ethereal. You all ask for a change from the bling but just when you have it, you comment on it being dingy and dull and needs a pop of color and contrast! smh…
